Santa Clause came to town!!!!

What a wonderful Christmas! We started with all our traditions like visiting family Christmas eve and making Santa cookies then opening our p.j's that night. It is such a blessing to celebrate Christmas with being surrounded by all our family and friends. Our kids of cause where more excited to see what Santa had brought them more than spending time with us. LOL Sky asked for a Trampoline and a razor motor scooter this year and Abbie asked for a t.v and a toy box. With tons of thinking and going back in forth with the idea I decided to let Santa get them the trampoline BUT on one condition it could only be the 8 ft wide and 2 ft tall and have a net! So while we opened our presents every present Sky opened he would say "I bet this is a trampoline" after we opened all the presents I "found" a note from Santa telling the kids thank you for the cookies and telling them how good they are and to keep being good then at the end of the letter it said he left a present out side because it was to big to bring in before I was done reading it Sky jumped up and ran to the back door and there it was THE trampoline!!! They where SOOOOO excited and it is the perfect size for them. That was the BIG gift this year for the kids. AS most of you know Nate and I treated our selves to a couch/sectional and a 50' flat screen t.v. We got very spoiled by family too! I also got a body bug , shoes, clothes, blender, space heater, ect. Nate also got Clothes, watch, wii games, puzzles ect. Sky also got the razor motor scooter, tools, clothes games, and a ton more!!! Abbie also got a Strawberry shortcake t.v, dolls, clothes, a toy box and much much more! Every year we say we are going to tone it down and not go over board and every year we get WAY to much I always end up saving some for birthdays and even then they get a TON of stuff. All in all we had an AMAZING Christmas and I am so grateful for this time of year that we have to reflect on Christ and his life. We try to read a a story about him every year and I really try to get the kids to understand the meaning of Christmas and I think Sky really got it this year he kept talking about how important it is to remember him on Christmas. I hope I can set a good example for them and teach them the true meaning, so they can continue and teach their kids when that time come!

Christmas baking and Zoo lights!

For those of you who know me well, you know I CAN'T bake! I try every Christmas and I Fail! So this year i decided to keep real basic and do things that don't require to much thought! We joined our friends the Johnson's and made sugar cookies and chocolate covered pretzels, they turned out very yummy and I was pleased with my self :) I decided the nest day to try some more and i did banana chocolate chip bread, more pretzels and chex mix! They all turned out good if I do say so my self. It was fun to have success this year and to share them all with the neighbors and friends!

We have been going to the zoo lights for 3 years now and our kids love it! It is fun to see the animals at night and the lights are really fun too! This year our friends Kendra and Ben joined us and we had a blast! It is a tradition I hope we continue for many years!

Holliday fun!

Our family LOVES the holidays! We try to do as much fun holiday activities as we can. So far this year we have gone to see the Christmas villages in Ogden and we went to Christmas street in Taylorsville, the light at the park in Layton, and just yesterday we went to see Santa at the mall and went to see the lights at the temple. We have had so much fun spending this time as a family and enjoying the holiday season! When we went to see Santa I was VERY disappointed because you weren't aloud to take your own pictures I think that is ridicules!! I want a picture of my kids with Santa but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg to get one! So I was bad and pretended I didn't see the sign and I got two quick photos of them with Santa. I mean really who can afford to pay that kind of money for ONE picture that you are going to pull out once a year if that! So I don't feel guilty about taking my own I am happy I got 2 before the lady said "Miss you can't take your own photos" I just looked at her and said " Oh sorry I didn't know" :) The kids loved seing Santa Skyler told him that he wants a trampoline, and Abbie said she wants a tv for her room (Sky has one and now she thinkg she needs one) That night we went to the temple lights which is one of my favorite traditions I love the beautiful temple grounds and I know I am weird but I really enjoy bundling us all up and walking around in the freezing cold! We have a few more things that we want to go do but we are running out of time so we will see if we get around to it! Merry Christmas to you all!

A new calling!

I have to say I really never thought it would happen, but it has I was realesed from my calling as an Activity Day leader. I had this calling for just over 3 years and while it has been fun I was ready for a change. :) I truly love all the girls that I was able to teach and all the wonderful women I was able to serve with! I wish you all the best and hope I served this calling to its fullest potential.
Now for my new calling....... I have to first say when they asked me I thought WOW am I really the best person for this!?!? I then rememberd these are not just calling from the bishop but from our Father in heaven.
I have been called as the Relief Society Second Counselor. I am truly honored that I have been asked and trusted to have this calling and I am going to fullfill it to the best of my knowledge. I do how ever want to ask for all your prayers that I will be guided with the spirit and that I can do as the Lord would have me do! I have BIG shoes to fill, but I know with prayer I can fill them. Thanks! :)

Thankfull at Thanksgiving!

We had the pleasure this year to host Thanksgiving at our house. You may think we are weird but we LOVE to host at our house. Nate and I both love to get our house ready and decorate the table settings. I wished I would have taken pictures but I forgot, but our tables were pretty fantastic if I do say so my self! We had Nate's Sister, her hubby, Nate's brother, and my sister and her kids over for the big feast. Nate parents where supposed to come but his dad got sick so they weren't able to join us ( you where missed) Nate made an AMAZING turkey that he worked so hard on. He brimmed it for 24 hours before cooking it and it made it so juicy and delicious! While I made the stuffing, potatoes, gravy, and green bean casserole. Jo Dawn (Nate's sister) made the jello pudding, and their family tradition dish oyster casserole. I have yet to have tasted this dish in the 8 years that Nate and I have been together LOL. I was grateful to be surrounded by family. I am so extremely happy my sister was able to come out and spend a few days out here with me, I love her and she is my best friend! A few things I am thankful for in no particular order:

1. My family (my immediate and extended)
2. Our health
3. The Lord and his unconditional love for me!
4. The gospel
5.My home, and neighbors that surround us!
6.My beautiful kids
7. Our friends
8. laughter
9. Trials (they always make you stronger)
10. A warm bed to sleep in.

TWILIGHT!!!

I keep asking my self if it is weird for a 26 year old to be this interested in a book about vampires who sparkle and HOT boys who turn into werewolves!??!?! I have NEVER read a whole book front to back until i was introduced into the Twilight series! I absolutely loved all the book and have LOVED the movies! The week before New Moon came out my Mary Kay unit put together a party called Bella's birthday bash we brought clients and did Bella Makeovers on then and we had a Edward and Jacob look alike that you could get pictures with. It was lots of fun and I took my cute nieces Destiny and Kylie with me and they were in Heaven!! They thought they were so cool and I had to tell them a few time that they weren't meeting the REAL Edward. LOL The night was a blast.
So the next weekend came and I was so jealous that EVERYONE was going to see the new movie BUT me! I got a call Friday morning from Tiana saying I wasn't going to have the boys that day so in the spure of the moment I called my friend Jana and we went to see if we could get tickets and we DID :) we went to the show and I LOVED it! i am so excited to read the books again and wait for movie # 3 to come out! I know what you are all thinking I am such a nerd, but I don't care I LOVE TWILIGHT! LOL

Our Princess turns 3!!!!

The last 3 years have flown by I can't believe that my baby girl is 3! Abbie has been so excited to turn three for the last month she has been asking almost everyday if she gets to blow out her candles yet. So you can only imagine her excitement when the words YES came from my mouth! When we would ask her what she wanted for her birthday she would say "candles" LOL

We talked her into wanting a pink power wheels and so when the day came she was happy to see one in our front yard waiting for her. She loves her new car(new to her, LOVE ksl.com) the next day she asked if she could drive Skyler to school in her car I thought I was going to pee my pants from laughing so hard. To celebrate that day we planned on going to the Black Island Farm it is a farm with tons of fun activity's with a corn maze and a tractor/hay ride out to their HUG pumpkin patch, the weather was bad so we went a few days latter with some good friends of our the Greens it was tons of fun and we had a blast!

So if any of you know us you know that birthdays are a BIG deal in our house even Nate and I have a big deal on our birthdays, we kept thinking what can we do this year and Nate came up with a darling "LITTLE" idea. Since our kids were going to be Peter pan and Tinker Bell for Halloween we thought we could have a Neverland theme party, Nate took that idea and RAN with it! Nate always goes above and beyond and this was no exception he transformed our living room into Neverland it was AMAZING!!! The kids had lots of fun making wands, pirate hats, doing the pinata, and playing pin the hook on Captain Hook! It was lots of work for Nate to make the room he was up all night the night before but it looked so cool. I am grateful for a husband who has no limits and is spontaneous and crazy just like me! I love you Nate you are a great daddy and husband and we are so blessed to have you!

Nate drew all of the pictures on cardboard and then panted and cut then out.

Abbie I can't believe you are three, you will always be our princess and we are blessed to have such an amazing little girl in our family, you bring light into our lives everyday.

Some of Abbie's new interests are: She can sing her A,B,C's , She loves to play with her baby's her favorite food is yogurt, you can always find her dancing, her favorite playmate is her big brother, and she LOVES candy! LOL I only have one request for you Abbie PLEASE STOP GROWING!!! WE LOVE YOU!

Canning, canning and more canning!

This year was the first year I tried canning and I have loved it! My good friend Tiana is a pro and has taught me how to do it, I have canned 24 jars of peaches, 10 jars of salsa. 12 jars of spaghetti sauce, 4 jars of tomatoes and 12 jars of jam! That is what I took home mind you she did MUCH more! It was hard work but well worth it and we are enjoying the fruits of my labor. I am so great full for Tiana and her knowledge that she shares with me. It has been so much fun learning all these new and exciting things! She also has been the one to teach me to sow and make all sorts of crafty things! You are the best Tiana!
On a side note I was making a few important calls to some doctors this morning so I turned on Dora the Explorer for Levi and Abbie . Levi is one of Tianas boys that I watch during the week, this is how I found them watching it! LOL How cute are they! Abbie sure does love HER Levi!

The Zoo and Frightmares

I had my sweet twin nieces Kylie and Destiny this week and I decided to plane some fun stuff with them so on Thurs. my good friend Tiana invited us to go to the Zoo, she has a pass and we were the lucky guest! It was lots of fun the kids enjoyed seeing all the animals and I enjoyed seeing the baby Elephant oh my gosh it was so stinking cute! It was a cold day, so I made sure to bring hats and gloves for everyone I am happy I did because we would have froze other wise. LOL Thanks Tiana for the fun FREE day!

Look how cute that baby is!
FRIGHTMARES!

I think the girls favorite time of the week was Frightmares though! They had only been to Lagoon once and it was last year with us! They were so excited to go again this year and we were So excited to take them! We decided to make a whole day of it, we usually only go for about 3-4 hours since we have passes but we needed to get their moneys worth! :) We got there when they opened at 11:00 and left around 9:00 . It was honestly one of the funnest times we have had at Lagoon, the girls were big enough for EVERY ride! They were such good sports and went on everything except Kylie didn't do The Rocket she was a little to nervous for it!

These where the only two who dared to pose for a picture with these guys!!

For those of you who have never been to Lagoon at this time of year I totally recommend it, it is all decorated in Halloween stuff and at night the monsters and goblins come out! They also have a few haunted houses one is way to scary for kids, but Kylie went in one of the other ones with Nate and she wasn't scared. They have a little trick or treat house for the younger kids they can go in and people are dressed up and they trick or treat it is lots of fun for the kids!

This is in the Trick or treat house!

I love having the girls come to stay they are such a big help. I love them to death and sometimes forget they aren't my kids. LOL

Kylie and Abbie on the first ride of the day The Lady Bug Drop!

My sweetie heart waiting patiently while the big girls go on the Jet star.

On the train, at night is was chili!

Bear Lake

Nate's brother Aaron and his wife Lindsey came to visit in the beginning of September and we decided to take a quick trip to Bear Lake. It was going to be for my birthday! So we took Lindsey's parents camper down and stayed for two night WITHOUT kids!!!!! We really enjoyed ourselves, just hanging out and worrying about kids. :) We went to the beach and just played the first day then we rented a boat on the second day and that was way fun! We went out and played for four hours on the boat and that day the weather wasn't very good, the water was FREEZING but that didn't stop us! :) Here are a few pics of our fun weekend!

First day of school!

I can't believe the day has finally came, and Skyler started KINDERGARTEN! It was such a bitter sweet day for me! I was excited for him because he was so excited to go and I was sad because I wasn't ready to let him go! I thought he would be a little hesitant to have me leave but when we got to his school he was ready to rock and roll and said "see ya mom" I held in the tears until I got out side then I lost it and they began to flow and I couldn't stop! I love my little Sky and I am going to miss him every day! He is getting so big and more independant all the time! I wonder were the time went? Abbie is also having a hard time adjusting to the change she asks every morning "where is my guyer" (Skyler) It melts my heart every time! When I picked him up latter that day I asked how his day was and he told me all the stuff they did, then I said "did you miss me" and he said " No mom I was having to much fun to miss you" *tear*

I am so proud of you Skyler and wish you the BEST school year ever!

Palmer Family Reunion!!!

We had a family reunion this weekend that started out way fun! A few of my cousins and their family's came and a couple uncles too! My uncle Parley brought his boat and we took it out on the lake a few time! It was so nice to see all the cousins that came, but I wish there where more of us there! We had yummy food, great conversation, and good family time.

The day was almost over and my family and my sister Amy's family decided to go out on the boat before it got dark with uncle Parley and Aunt Kaylynn, So about half way through I felt something wet hit my foot I looked over and Sky was totally throwing up :( We stopped the boat and cleaned it up I thought he got motion sickness so we got off the boat and went back to camp, a few minutes later he was throwing up again!! Not even a minute after that I looked at Abbie and she was throwing up! I felt so bad for my babies we have NEVER had to deal with throw up at are house so this was new to all of us and to deal with it in the mountains wasn't fun at all. So at 9:00 pm we decided to pack up and go home, we only had to stop once to let them throw up on the side of the street. We finally got home just after midnight and when they woke up in the morning it was like it never happened they where back to themselves!??! So what was this you ask.... I have NO idea! Like I said my first thought was motion sickness my second thought was just to much junk food that day, but when Abbie started I thought for sure a bug! BUT can you get a bug and get over it all in a few hours? I guess I will never know, but I am so happy it only lasted that long! :) Thanks to all who came and ex specially to Amy who put it all together you did a great job! Love you all!

It gets a little crazy since they all drink but it is way funny to watch! We have a blast with all of them. We go four wheeling and fishing at a little lake called Petes Hole it has AMAZING fishing we carch at least 10-2- fish everytime we go! Thank you Tracy for inviting us we loved it!

Yellowstone

We planned a trip to Yellowstone with my sister Amy and her family, we also took my cute little crazy mom. :) It was so much fun! We went on a Friday and came home on Monday we spent lots of time in the park ans saw a bunch of wildlife! My family went on a 5 mile hike to a water fall that was beautiful. I was very proud of my self for doing a 5 mile hike... We stayed in a cabin and stayed up late playing games ever night! My kids thought that it was fun to see all the animals. We love going on vacation with the Marsing family and look forward to many more vacations! My computer wont upload my pics right now so I will put some on here later!

Skylers BIG accident!

So as most of you have heard Sky had an accident on a treadmill. He was at a friends house and they were playing on a treadmill and it started going to fast and sky got trapped between a wall and the treadmill his arms were caught and got third degree burns on them. When I took him in to the Dr.'s they thought one arm was broken and that he might need skin graphs but luckily he didn't. We have had to keep his arms wrapped and have to change it everyday. It has been 3 weeks and he now only needs one arm wrapped. He is healing very fast and well. No more playing on treadmills!!!

The Fourth of July!

The Fourth of July is my FAVORITE holiday! I love all the activities for it b.b.q's carnivals, and of course the fireworks! We go to the Clearfield parade every year since it is right by our house the kids love it! they trow TONS of candy. Then we go to the carnivals around the area and just have lots of fun! This year I had Abbie's hair done at the carnival they put glitter and ribbons all over in it it was really cute! Sky got his spray painted like a flag he thought he was pretty cool! :)
We started a tradition a few years ago to go to Chili's for dinner on the fourth we love their food it is cheap and delicious! Nothing compares to the Fire work show that Clearfield put on I am not kidding you we used to love Sugar house fireworks but since we have lived here we will NEVER go back to Sugar house. Clearfield fire works put all the others to shame!! I love fireworks and look forward to the fourth all year! Our good friends the Cook family meet up with us this year and it made it even more fun. I am grateful for the Country I live in and I love celebrating it every year!

Sweet Abbie

So I feel like my last few posts have been all about Skyler and I wanted to give a little shout out to our sweet princess Abbie!

Abbie is such a sweet little girl we LOVE to have her in our family. Abbie is always learning new things, she changes so much everyday. One of her newest things is she loves to get dressed all be herself. Although most of the time the clothes come out of her dirty clothes hamper because she can't reach her clothes in her closet we are so proud of her accomplishment :) Abbie has a contagious smile and rarely gets into trouble because she knows that her smile melts our hearts! Abbie loves to say the prayers at dinner time and thinks dancing is tons of fun! One of Abbie's favorite toys is her baby dolls you will rarely see her with out one! There are days that I think I could loose my mind and she quickly reminds me how great life is by saying "momma I wuv you" Those sweet words but a smile on my face every time I hear them! I am so grateful for such a special little girl and feel so blessed to be her mommy. Abbie you have such a beautiful spirit and we love you!
