Santa Clause came to town!!!!

What a wonderful Christmas! We started with all our traditions like visiting family Christmas eve and making Santa cookies then opening our p.j's that night. It is such a blessing to celebrate Christmas with being surrounded by all our family and friends. Our kids of cause where more excited to see what Santa had brought them more than spending time with us. LOL Sky asked for a Trampoline and a razor motor scooter this year and Abbie asked for a t.v and a toy box. With tons of thinking and going back in forth with the idea I decided to let Santa get them the trampoline BUT on one condition it could only be the 8 ft wide and 2 ft tall and have a net! So while we opened our presents every present Sky opened he would say "I bet this is a trampoline" after we opened all the presents I "found" a note from Santa telling the kids thank you for the cookies and telling them how good they are and to keep being good then at the end of the letter it said he left a present out side because it was to big to bring in before I was done reading it Sky jumped up and ran to the back door and there it was THE trampoline!!! They where SOOOOO excited and it is the perfect size for them. That was the BIG gift this year for the kids. AS most of you know Nate and I treated our selves to a couch/sectional and a 50' flat screen t.v. We got very spoiled by family too! I also got a body bug , shoes, clothes, blender, space heater, ect. Nate also got Clothes, watch, wii games, puzzles ect. Sky also got the razor motor scooter, tools, clothes games, and a ton more!!! Abbie also got a Strawberry shortcake t.v, dolls, clothes, a toy box and much much more! Every year we say we are going to tone it down and not go over board and every year we get WAY to much I always end up saving some for birthdays and even then they get a TON of stuff. All in all we had an AMAZING Christmas and I am so grateful for this time of year that we have to reflect on Christ and his life. We try to read a a story about him every year and I really try to get the kids to understand the meaning of Christmas and I think Sky really got it this year he kept talking about how important it is to remember him on Christmas. I hope I can set a good example for them and teach them the true meaning, so they can continue and teach their kids when that time come!

Christmas baking and Zoo lights!

For those of you who know me well, you know I CAN'T bake! I try every Christmas and I Fail! So this year i decided to keep real basic and do things that don't require to much thought! We joined our friends the Johnson's and made sugar cookies and chocolate covered pretzels, they turned out very yummy and I was pleased with my self :) I decided the nest day to try some more and i did banana chocolate chip bread, more pretzels and chex mix! They all turned out good if I do say so my self. It was fun to have success this year and to share them all with the neighbors and friends!

We have been going to the zoo lights for 3 years now and our kids love it! It is fun to see the animals at night and the lights are really fun too! This year our friends Kendra and Ben joined us and we had a blast! It is a tradition I hope we continue for many years!

Holliday fun!

Our family LOVES the holidays! We try to do as much fun holiday activities as we can. So far this year we have gone to see the Christmas villages in Ogden and we went to Christmas street in Taylorsville, the light at the park in Layton, and just yesterday we went to see Santa at the mall and went to see the lights at the temple. We have had so much fun spending this time as a family and enjoying the holiday season! When we went to see Santa I was VERY disappointed because you weren't aloud to take your own pictures I think that is ridicules!! I want a picture of my kids with Santa but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg to get one! So I was bad and pretended I didn't see the sign and I got two quick photos of them with Santa. I mean really who can afford to pay that kind of money for ONE picture that you are going to pull out once a year if that! So I don't feel guilty about taking my own I am happy I got 2 before the lady said "Miss you can't take your own photos" I just looked at her and said " Oh sorry I didn't know" :) The kids loved seing Santa Skyler told him that he wants a trampoline, and Abbie said she wants a tv for her room (Sky has one and now she thinkg she needs one) That night we went to the temple lights which is one of my favorite traditions I love the beautiful temple grounds and I know I am weird but I really enjoy bundling us all up and walking around in the freezing cold! We have a few more things that we want to go do but we are running out of time so we will see if we get around to it! Merry Christmas to you all!

A new calling!

I have to say I really never thought it would happen, but it has I was realesed from my calling as an Activity Day leader. I had this calling for just over 3 years and while it has been fun I was ready for a change. :) I truly love all the girls that I was able to teach and all the wonderful women I was able to serve with! I wish you all the best and hope I served this calling to its fullest potential.
Now for my new calling....... I have to first say when they asked me I thought WOW am I really the best person for this!?!? I then rememberd these are not just calling from the bishop but from our Father in heaven.
I have been called as the Relief Society Second Counselor. I am truly honored that I have been asked and trusted to have this calling and I am going to fullfill it to the best of my knowledge. I do how ever want to ask for all your prayers that I will be guided with the spirit and that I can do as the Lord would have me do! I have BIG shoes to fill, but I know with prayer I can fill them. Thanks! :)
